Local Man Blows My Mind By Losing His

A long-time collector of Chinese art says he wants to build a mile-long replica of the Great Wall of China near Spring Valley, WI. [...]

The 70-year-old Trent has worked in the live-bait business for about two decades and he says he has collected Chinese art for about 25 years.

Trent has established a foundation to try and raise funds for the effort. He said he could build a nice facility with $300 million in donations.

I know I’ve contributed to the success of a few live-bait shops in town, but I can’t imagine anyone being able to take up art collecting from my (or anyone’s) patronage.

As far as having a replica of the Great Wall in eastern Wisconsin, I’m all for it. It’s a terrible idea, but I can’t think of anything better than the Great Wall to compete with North Dakota’s “World’s Largest Cow” and Minnesota’s “Celebration to Remember the World’s Largest Lefse.”

With the Great Wall AND the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Wisconsin will finally become the tourist destination it deserves to be.

You know, I’m not surprised that you tend to patronize live bait shops…. with your status as a Master Baiter and all.
